When you think of women, what word comes to mind?

As I explained on our LinkedIn, we are approaching International Women’s Day this week – which here at ToPS is every day 😉 And Krista and I have been thinking a lot lately about how wonderful women truly are.

For us, the main word that comes to mind is Wonder. Wonder is defined by Merriam Webster’s Dictionary as “something extraordinary or surprising, a marvel.” Women are certainly extraordinary, and at every stage, we continue to surprise both ourselves and those around us, including those who may doubt our warrior-like capabilities.

The second part of the definition is marvel. This brings us to a specific type of woman – Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is in every woman, not only because of her willful wizardry, but also because of the sheer power she holds within. As historian, journalist, and Harvard Professor Jill Lepore explains, “Wonder Woman isn’t only an Amazonian princess with bad-ass boots. She’s the missing link in a chain of events that begins with the woman suffrage campaigns of the 1910s and ends with the troubled place of feminism fully a century later. Feminism made Wonder Woman. And then Wonder Woman remade feminism.”

There is a superhero within every woman. And when one woman succeeds, it creates a ripple effect on us all. When one woman wins, we all win. Women exhibit an incredible ability to remain strong and determined yet whimsical and warmhearted – that delicate balance can never be explained. But that’s just the thing about wonder – it’s not meant to be explained. It’s merely meant to be cherished.

We love helping women discover new depths of their own wonder through the transformational power of public speaking. And we’re eagerly counting down to the start of our March Cohort tomorrow!! ❤️

When you think of women, what word comes to mind for you and why? Would love to hear what you think.
